A quick post to apologize for the lack of them lately, an exhibition abroad, followed by the flu & a new project can be quite overwhelming! Please keep seated, new posts are coming soon!

In the meantime, I want to share this photo with you as it describes EXACTLY what’s happening in my head right now, my workload is crazy! Still manage to laugh though!!

DESIGNER LOVE: Nate Berkus

‘For me the most successful interiors in the world are put together by people who surround themselves with objects that bring them joy’ – Nate Berkus

One of my Christmas presents this year was the Nate Berkus book ‘The things that matter’. The book, not only showcases his own apartment and 13 of his most interesting projects, but also tells the story behind Nate Berkus; his personal journeys & adventures through life and work, his own experiences and all the things that matter to him.

What I love most about his style is that is so understated and extremely personal. His love for antiques is present on his projects and somehow all of them have a contemporary and fresh feel! A true master of antique & flea markets!

Enjoy the photos!

Chic à Paris!

I am off to Paris this weekend to attend the Maison & Object exhibition, such a great inspiration for my new projects! I am planning to spend 2 days at the show meeting with new suppliers and one day browsing at Parisian antique markets on a quest of treasured accessories! :-)

To me, it feels like time in Paris goes by slower than in London, I manage to ‘switch off ‘ from everything & everyone and just enjoy the moment! I am so excited! I love everything about this city, especially the Parisians’ fashion street style!

Need to think about packing!!

DESIGNING WITH…Chinese Wedding Cabinets!

My new obsession lately has been vintage Chinese wedding cabinets!

I love that they are so versatile but mostly I love the history behind them! In the past, they were part of the Chinese pre-wedding series of 6 rituals; the bride’s parents would deliver the bride’s dowry a few days before the wedding either in a wooden cabinet or a wooden chest, hence the name ‘wedding’ cabinet! The dowry typically included new clothes, bedding, tea set, baby items, slippers & jewellery, that is why they were mainly used as wardrobes!

I think they would look great in every room! In an entryway for your coats, in a kitchen as pantry storage, in a guest bedroom as a linen cupboard, in an office for your folders, in your studio for your craft supplies or even in a living/dining area as a bar cabinet!

I am getting mine this week for my kitchen to serve as a coffee station/ bar cabinet/ crockery storage! Talking about versatility & multi function!! Can’t wait to get organised!

Where would you use one?
